A Glass of Milk

One day, a poor boy was selling clothing door to door, to pay for his education realized that he only had ten cents left in his pockets. He was hungry and so decided to ask for some food at the next house that he came to.

In the meantime he lost his hunger when a beautiful young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal, he asked her for a glass of water.

She saw that he was very hungry so instead brought him a huge glass of milk. He drank it very slowly and then asked- « How much do I owe you? »
- « You do not owe me anything at all », she replied:- « My mother taught us never to accept anything for doing someone a kindness».
- He replied : « Then I thank you from the bottom of my heart ».

When Howard Kelly left the house, as well as feeling stronger physically, he sensed a return of his faith in the lord which he had nearly abandoned.

Years later, this same young woman fell gravely ill. The local doctors were mystified, so they sent her to the big city where they knew that the specialists would be able to diagnose this rare sickness.

Doctor Howard Kelly was called as a consultant. When he heard the name of the city where she lived, a memory burned brightly in his eyes.

He got up and went to her room. As he entered her room, he immediately recognized her. He returned to the consultation room, determined to do his best to save her life.
From that day on,he paid special attention to this case. After a long battle, the war was finally won.. Doctor Kelly left instructions that the bill should be sent to him for authorization. He looked it over, wrote something in the margin, and sent it to her room.

She thought that when she opened the envelope she would find an invoice that would take the rest of her life to pay in full. But when she finally opened it. Something caught her attention in the margin of the invoice.
She read these words: Paid in full with a glass of milk :

Doctor Howard Kelly.
Tears of joy filled her eyes and her heart. She prayed :« Thank you lord, for your love has crossed the hands and hearts of man ».

There is a saying that goes like this: Bread thrown over the water returns to you.
An act of goodness that you do today can come back to you or someone that you love, when you are not expecting it.

If you do not see this act of goodness returned, at least you will have made a difference in this world. And in the end, isn’t that what life is all about?

The hardest lesson in life, is to know which bridges to cross, and which to burn...
Many people pass through our lives but only real friends leave their imprint in our hearts..

Mother....

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out todinner and a movie. She said, 'I love you, but I know this other womanloves you and would love to spend some time with you.'

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has beena widow for 19 years. The demands of my work and my two children had madeit possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.

'What's wrong, are you well?' she asked.

My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or asurprise invitation is a sign of bad news.

'I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you,' Iresponded. 'Just the two of us.'

She thought about it for a moment, and then said, 'I would like that verymuch.'

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervousabout our date.

She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and waswearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last weddinganniversary.

She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's. 'I told myfriends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed,'she said, as she got into the car. 'They can't wait to hear about ourmeeting.'

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy.My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady.

After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read largeprint. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sittingthere staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips. 'It was I who usedto have to read the menu when you were small,' she said.

'Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor,' I responded.
During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation, nothing extraordinarybut catching up on recent events of each others life. We talked so muchthat we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, 'I'll go out with you again, butonly if you let me invite you.' I agreed.

'How was your dinner date?' asked my wife when I got home.'Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined,' I answered.

A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened sosuddenly that I didn't have a chance to do anything for her.

Sometime later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receiptfrom the same place mother and I had dined.

An attached note said: 'I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that Icould be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you andthe other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me.I love you, son.'

At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: 'I LOVE YOU'and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve.

Nothing in life ismore important than your family. Give them the time they deserve, becausethese things cannot be put off till 'some other time'.

This isn't just about being a mother, it's about appreciatingthe people in your life while you have them....no matter who they are.

What a Love is….

He met her on a party.

She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he so normal, nobody paid attention to him.

At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to being polite, she promised.

They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was toonervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me go home.... suddenly he asked the waiter.. 'would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee.'

Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it. She asked him curiously; why you have this hobby? He replied:

when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I like playing in the sea, I could feel

the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the

salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my

hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there'.

While saying that tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched. That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home.

Then she also started to speak, spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story. They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets all her demands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted, warm, careful. He was such a good person but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee!

Then the story was just like every beautiful love story , the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life... And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee e, as she knew that's the way he liked it.

After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said:

'My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie I said to you---the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt It was hard for me to change so I just went ahead.I never thought that could be the start of our communication! I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything..

Now I'm dying, I afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste.. But I have had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you. Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life.

If I can live for the second time, still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again'. Her tears made the letter totally wet. Someday, someone asked her: what's the taste of salty coffee? It's sweet. She replied.

Love is not 2 forget but 2 forgive,
not 2 c but 2 understand,
not 2 hear but 2 listen,
not 2 let go but 2 HOLD ON !!!!
Don't ever leave the one you love for the one you like, because the one you like will leave you for the one they love.. Find a guy, who calls you beautiful instead of hot. Who calls you back when you hang up on him. Who will stay awake just to watch you sleep. Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead. Who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats. Who holds your hand in front of his friends. wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you. Wait for the one who turns to his friends and says, '...that's her.'

Angel...

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born.

One day the child asked God, “They tell me you are going to send me to earth tomorrow – but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?”

God replied, “Among the many angels, I have chosen one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”

“But, said the child, “tell me – here in Heaven I don’t do anything else but sing and smile. That’s what I need to be happy!”

God said, “Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel’s love and be happy.”

And, said the child, “how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don’t know the language that men talk?”

“That’s easy”, said God, “Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.”

The child looked up at God saying, “And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?”

God smiled at the child saying, “Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.”

The child said, “I’ve heard on earth there are bad men. Who will protect me?”

God put his arm around the child, saying, “Your angel will defend you – even if it means risking life!”
The child looked sad, saying, “But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.”

God hugged the child, “Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you.”

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard.
The child, in a hurry, asked softly, “Oh God, if I am about to leave now please tell me my angel’s name!”

God replied, “Your angel’s name is of no importance…you will simply call her MOMMY!

KEY TO SUCCESS...!

KEY TO SUCCESS
No Pain- No Gain….!

For starters, let’s agree that we can disagree about what “Success” is.

It certainly means different things to different people. For one person, “success” may pop up pictures of “Rolls Royce” a Yacht” a fancy house, may be a business of your own, or a white collar, management carrier with a solid company, or all those things. For somebody else, just the thought of having to put on business attire and go to an office everyday is frightening. For others, the emphasis may be on family, not money. So there’s no point in trying to force fit any one idea of success on to you.

H/ever we may be able to agree more easily on the opposites of success, on what we do not want our lives to become. For example,

· Not having enough money to pay debts.
· Living payday to payday.
· No money to Save, Invest, Buy a house or land.
· Frustration at seeing others gets ahead faster than you do.
· Stuck in a dead-end job.
· Passed over for wage increase or promotions.
· Lack of job security
· Embarrassment when visiting your relatives or your spouse’s relatives
or in other social gatherings… embarrassment about your job.
· Worry about the future in general.
· Desire to do better but not sure what to do, what steps to take.
· Lack of education or know- how about computers or other” technology”
that may be coming in to your workplace.

Do ANY of these apply to you….?

Chances are..., at least several do, just as they do to millions of others, especially men and women in the 19 to 30 age group.

In fact, most people go through there entire adult lives never solving any of these issues. They get stuck just “going with the flow”

What we’d like to do then…!

There is a challenge you to take a completely fresh look at where you are, where you could go in life.. Where you’d like to go in life, and how you can take control of that process.

Success is simple. It is not difficult to be successful al long as you put in a little more effort. Your success depends on your efforts determination persistence and perseverance.

Success is a process to make progress constantly. It is an opportunity to improve self cultivation, way of life, psychology, physical strength, knowledge and wealth and as well as bring happiness to the others.

Success is not an accident. It is the result of your attitude and your choice. So, Success is by Choice not by chance.
